Art Mediums

One of the most fun things to do with art is to experiment with different mediums. My kind of experimenting is to see what happens when I mixed the meduims, like in this painting in which I used: charcoal, acrylic paints, texture, and lead pencil. It was so much fun working with this piece and watching how it developed.

Simplicity

In creating, sometimes it is the simple design that takes you into a relaxing place. Creating doesn't always have to be complex, layered, and extraordinarily detailed. Sometimes it is simple brush strokes, basic color mixing, and a gentle molding of a peaceful image. This is why this piece makes me happy. No complications, it is purely a happy place.

Sometimes, you have to be daring and mix colors you don't really think go together. Art is full of surprises and daring moves. It's supposed to be interesting, fun, messy, and a moment of new discoveries. So why not do it? Mix those weird colors together. You will be surprised at the wonderful beauty you can create!

Family Tradition

When I lived out-of-state from my family, I spent each Thanksgiving with a friend's family. Their tradition was to give everyone a new Christmas ornament after dinner. I still have every one of them! When I moved back near my family, I decided to start this tradition with them. Every year on Thanksgiving, I give my family hand-made ornaments. It is a fun tradition and they seem to enjoy receiving them. Here's a sneak peek at what they are getting this year!

After many years of searching for happiness and what inspires me the most, I finally have the opportunity to explore my artistic nature.
